Provide principled counsel and premier legal services, as committed members and leaders in the legal and military professions, in support of a ready, globally responsive, and regionally engaged National Guard. 


JAG provides legal assistance to all eligible Service members, their Families, and Retirees regardless of branch or component. Our Legal Assistance attorneys can provide you with confidential advice and assistance pertaining to a wide variety of legal issues including:

  • Estate Planning: wills, simple trusts, powers of attorney, living wills
  • Estate Administration: advice on how you can be a successful estate executor/administrator   
  • Family Law: separations, child-related issues, adoptions, paternity         
  • Consumer Law: automobile issues, scams/identity theft, debtor and creditor problems, landlord/tenant disputes     
  • Military Administrative Law:  FLIPLs, referred OERs, reprimands, physical disability evaluation processing, recoupment issues    
  • Many Others: If you don’t see your problem here, just ask.  If we can’t help you directly, we’ll refer you to someone who can.                                                       

Please note, the Legal Assistance Program cannot represent you in court, but can assist in providing advice, and in some cases, assist with document preparation in the event of self-representation.

Trial Defense Service (TDS)

TDS's mission is to provide legal defense services to Soldiers as required by law or as authorized by The Judge Advocate General.  TDS provides a full range of defense-oriented legal services to Soldiers.
